Comet Voodoo Doll

The Comet Voodoo Doll was actually created due to the fact that a lot of people had chopped 4-6 inches off of their OG Voodoo's and told Comet how much better they were than the orginal. The Comet Voodoo Doll is what redefined regular top mount speed boards, they're smaller making it easier to break into slides and since you're utilizing less weight it's easier to bring back, however controlling it could be a hassle if you're not used to smaller boards. The Doll is absolutely amazing for those looking for a top mount speed board that can slide to shed speed down larger hills.

This board has been tested by long time riders like Adam Colton and Kyle Chin again until finally the perfect shape had been created, just to perfect a smaller sized board for speedboarding and sliding. Unfortunately there's no form of tail or nose for more technical tricks, but it also eliminates any chance of one throwing you off and for speedboarders, anything that like a nose or kicktail that can slow you down at all is no bueno. However if you're looking for an amazing speedboard, whether you're just getting into it or you've been riding for some time then look no further, although I haven't ridden one for more than 30 minutes around the shop, I have heard nothing but good come from these boards.

Comet Voodoo OG

The Comet Voodoo OG is an awesome cruising, carving, and light bombing board. It comes with a standard mount truck which will make it so there's less shock when riding as there's more distance between the board and the ground. Also, this board has a decently short wheelbase and isn't too long, both of which are amazing for urban transportation.

The great thing about the Comet is the 9 ply construction, these boards are nothing short of tanks and will most likely last you until you decide you're bored of it and need a new one. For all of you carvers out there, even though the OG lacks a kicktail, it's shorter wheelbase makes for easy carving, and with the standard mount truck (You could also try gullwing sidewinder trucks) if you don't plan on bombing hills at all and it will give a much surfier feel than a lot of drop through decks you can also keep the trucks looser as there's less chance that you'll bite. I recommend picking up the voodoo if you need a board that's a touch smaller without giving up the surfiness and ease of riding a longer board around.

Comet FSMini

So I've just picked this board out of the shop this last week and it's nothing short of amazing. I absolutely love the size, it's only 36" as compared to it's bigger 40" version which makes for sharper turning and faster sliding. Not only that, but since I walk with my board everywhere it's not near as much of a hassle to carry around. Also, don't let the smaller size fool you, if you're only looking for a board to get around town, slide, and freeride, this board can also handle hills quite well and can still hit 30-40 mph with no trouble at all.

The Comet FSMini also has plenty of concave to keep you locked in while turning and sliding, and have yet to slip off yet. There's also an inch of rocker on the board that I personally find comfortable and conforms to my feet. The FSMini also comes with a drop through truck mount for easier pushing, more speed and stability down hills, and I've also found that it gives more control while sliding as compared to a normal mounted truck. It also has a slight overhang which makes it possible to pop it up when you're getting off and you can do manuals and such, but if you're looking for a board to get technical with, I think it would be better to search around for something with a bit of an actual nose and kicktail. I've had a lot of people recommend this for smaller riders, but in all honesty I think it's a great all around board no matter your size, especially if you plan on carrying it around everywhere, I'm riding it right now with 83a Orangatang Durians, 180mm randall trucks, and bones reds, and it's a dream. Whether you're a new or old time rider and are familiar with comet or not, I highly recommend picking up this little slice of sliding heaven.
